Bulimia helped in Cambridge and London with Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and applied psychological techniques
Bulimia nervosa, commonly shortened to bulimia, is a compulsive eating disorder. It affects a far greater proportion of women than men, but this does not mean that men never suffer from bulimia. If you have bulimia you crave food and go through periods of overeating or binge eating. These binges often occur in secret and usually involve eating 'junk' food or food that makes you feel good or gives you a boost, albeit temporarily.
After binge eating you then feel guilty and ashamed about your behaviour, fearing that you will put on weight. As a result, you then try to rid yourself of the food or calories that you have consumed. This most commonly occurs by purging yourself of the food, normally by inducing vomiting, but can be through the use of laxatives, diuretics or enemas. A small proportion of bulimics instead go through periods of excessive exercise or fasting after binge eating.
Symptoms of bulimia include:
- Cycles of bingeing and purging
- Food cravings
- Hoarding food
- Intense fear of gaining weight
- Distorted body image
- Frequent weight changes
- Refusing to eat with others or disappearing to the toilet after meals to vomit
- Low mood
Bulimia can reult in a number of health problems including:
- Dental problems - tooth decay, yellow teeth, gum disease and bad breath due to regular vomiting
- Calluses and scars on the hands if these are used to induce vomiting
- Enlarged salivary glands, causing a puffy face
- Sore throat
- Irregular periods or periods stopping altogether
- Severe dehydration, due to frequent vomiting or laxative use, which can cause weakness, fainting or kidney damage
- Inflammation of the stomach and oesophagus
- Peptic ulcers
- Low blood pressure
- Electrolyte imbalance
- Heart palpitations
- Damage to the heart
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Damage to the bowel due to regular use of laxatives
- Difficulty sleeping and tiredness
Bulimia can really affect your life, causing problems with relationships, work and health as well as many others. I offer two forms of treatment that can completely resolve your bulimia.
Resolving Bulimia with Pure Hypnoanalysis
Bulimia tends to be caused by bottled up and unresolved emotional conflicts. Due to unresolved anxieties, you don't feel good about yourself so you compulisvely overeat to make yourself feel good in the moment. This is then followed by guilt and shame leading to purging. You probably have very low self-esteem and feel out of control of your bingeing and ashamed of yourself.
Pure Hypnoanalysis is a unique type of hypnotherapy, that is highly effective at treating bulimia. It is a very successful therapy, which allows you to completely resolve the root emotional cause of your eating disorder, in a very safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. It is one of the best methods in the world for treating emotional, psychological or anxiety-related problems. This therapy only takes around 6 - 12 sessions, allowing you to make huge changes to your life in a very short space of time.
